Crush the chocolate sandwich cookies into fine crumbs, mix with the melted butter and press firmly into a 9 inch pie dish, going up the sides. Freeze for 15 minutes.
Melt the dark chocolate in 20 second bursts in the microwave, stirring between each, then let it cool slightly.
Blend the cottage cheese for a full 2 minutes until completely silky with no lumps.
Add the melted chocolate, cocoa powder, maple syrup, vanilla and salt to the blender and blend until thick, glossy and mousse-like.
Pour the filling into the chilled crust and smooth the top. Chill for at least 4 hours until the filling is set and sliceable.
Whip the heavy cream with the powdered sugar to soft peaks and spread or pipe it over the pie.
Finish with dark chocolate shavings, slice and serve cold.
