Ingredients

For the Cottage Cheese Layer

  • 2 cups Whole Milk Cottage Cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Lime Juice
  • 2 teaspoons Taco Seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Kosher Salt

For the Turkey Layer

  • 1 tablespoon Extra-Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1 lb Lean Ground Turkey
  • 2 teaspoons Taco Seasoning
  • 1/3 cup Salsa
  • 1 can Black Beans, Rinsed And Drained

For the Toppings

  • 1 cup Shredded Mexican Blend Cheese
  • 1 cup Pico De Gallo, Drained
  • 1 Avocado, Diced
  • 1/4 cup Sliced Green Onions
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Cilantro, Chopped
  • 1 Jalapeno Pepper, Thinly Sliced

Equipment

  • blender
  • large skillet

Instructions

  • Blend the cottage cheese, lime juice, taco seasoning, garlic powder, and salt until completely smooth. Spread it across the bottom of a shallow serving dish and refrigerate it.
  • Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground turkey and cook for 6 to 8 minutes, breaking it into small crumbles, until fully cooked.
  • Stir the taco seasoning, salsa, and black beans into the turkey. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes, until the mixture is thick and no excess liquid remains.
  • Let the turkey mixture cool for 10 minutes. Spreading it while piping hot could loosen the cottage cheese layer.
  • Spoon the turkey and bean mixture evenly over the whipped cottage cheese. Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the turkey.
  • Top the dip with pico de gallo, avocado, green onions, cilantro, and jalapeno. Serve immediately with sturdy tortilla chips or crisp bell pepper pieces.
